Neurosurgeons in this multidisciplinary department of the Munich City Clinic perform the most complex operations on the brain and spinal cord. They achieve success in treating complex conditions such as hemangiomas and brain tumors, spinal stenosis and astrocytoma. Here they also restore people's ability to walk and withstand physical exertion even after spinal injuries. Professional athletes also turn to the neurosurgeons of Bogenhausen for help.
Head of the Neurosurgery Department is Professor, Doctor of Medicine Jens Lehmberg. His total experience in leading neurosurgical departments is more than 10 years. The professor shows particular interest in skull base and spine surgery, neurooncology and vascular neurosurgery.
The priority direction is the treatment of type 1 and 2 diabetes mellitus and diabetic foot. During diagnostic measures, the causes of obesity are clarified, and diet and daily routine are selected. The key direction is the diagnosis and treatment of hip dysplasia, which is one of the most common congenital malformations. The department is famous not only for fast and accurate diagnosis, but also for successful treatment – this allows avoiding irreversible pathological changes.
